About Us

We all benefit from public health. The Fund for Public Health NYC (FPHNYC) connects the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (the Health Department) to private sector partners, funders, and donors to develop, pilot, launch, and scale innovative public health projects quickly and flexibly. FPHNYC provides the Health Department with project management, budget development, fundraising support, fiscal compliance, as well as personnel hiring, onboarding, and management. FPHNYC’s partnership with the Health Department has proved critical to addressing existing and emerging public health challenges. 

Our Story

FPHNYC was created in 2002 as an independent nonprofit organization with the purpose of connecting the NYC Health Department to private sector partners and the greater philanthropic community.

Our History

Since our founding in 2002, we’ve raised more than $500 million in public and private funding for nearly 440 projects, making New York City healthier and safer for all.
